Senior Lecturer at Södertörn University in media technology, journalism, Internet & blockchain research Walid Al-Saqaf will speak at the panel discussion dedicated to blockchain application in various spheres.
The experts’ dialog will be part of the specialized event Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Stockholm scheduled for September 11.
Walid Al-Saqaf will tell how to leverage blockchain in journalism and content creation. The speaker will particularly dwell on blockchain in content tracking, fighting piracy, intellectual property defense, and combating fake news.
Walid Al-Saqaf is a Yemeni journalist with a bachelor degree in computer engineering. The expert also obtains a PhD in media and communications. In times of the Arab Spring, he cooperated with CNN, the Guardian, and Huffington Post. For the contribution to the freedom of speech, the journalist received several awards, including TED 2012 senior fellowship and Örebro University's 2010 Democracy Award.
Due to the knowledge of software development, Walid Al-Saqaf focused on the investigation of IT influence on media and journalism.
